Preferred on lines that need high dirt-holding capacity. Bag replacement is quick, which makes operation easier on streams whose contamination load varies.

Bag filter

1 / 3

Bag filters collect contamination inside a filter bag. The investment cost is low and bag replacement is quick, which makes operation easier on lines whose contamination load varies.

The common bag size is 7 inch diameter by 32 inch length, with a filtration rating of 1–200 microns. The housing can be synthetic or stainless steel, built as single or multi-bag.

They are used as a protective filter ahead of reverse osmosis, on spring water bottling lines, in syrup and sugar, alcohol, wine and beer processes and in paint manufacturing.
